Organic Inputs and Organic Fertilizers

Organic products must be certified by professional certification bodies. Similarly, other input products, apart from those permitted for use in organic agricultural production, also need to undergo evaluation by certification bodies.

Kiwa BCS can conduct evaluation and certification for agricultural input products (such as organic fertilizers, microbial fertilizers, and biological pesticides) in accordance with the organic standards of the European Union, the United States, Japan, and China.

The role of organic fertilizers in agricultural production is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

1. Improving soil quality and enhancing soil fertility: After organic fertilizers are applied to the soil, organic matter can effectively improve the physical and chemical properties as well as biological characteristics of the soil, mature the soil, enhance the soil's capacity for retaining and supplying fertilizers and its buffering capacity, and create favorable soil conditions for crop growth.

2. Increasing yields and improving quality: Organic fertilizers contain abundant organic matter and various nutrient elements, which provide nutrients for crops. After organic fertilizers decompose, they supply energy and nutrients for the activities of soil microorganisms, promote microbial activity, and accelerate the decomposition of organic matter. The active substances produced thereby can promote crop growth and improve the quality of agricultural products.

3. Enhancing fertilizer use efficiency: Organic fertilizers contain a wide range of nutrients, but their relative content is low, and the release of nutrients is slow. The organic acids produced by the decomposition of organic matter can also promote the dissolution of mineral nutrients in the soil, which is beneficial for crop absorption and helps improve fertilizer use efficiency.
